The PAW Mission is a non-profit organization whose mission is to help decrease shelter euthanasia through affordable, accessible veterinary care, compassionate, innovative animal sheltering, and empathetic humane education. Our hospital is located at 14755 Foothill Blvd Suite G, Fontana, CA 92335
The PAW Mission is more than an animal welfare organization—we’re a community-driven movement dedicated to creating brighter futures for pets and families. By listening to the unique needs of our communities, we design impactful programs that save lives, promote education, and strengthen the bond between people and animals.
Through partnerships with local cities, shelters, and community organizations, The PAW Mission brings accessible veterinary care directly to the communities that need it most. From affordable spay and neuter services to vaccines, wellness care, and other essential resources, we work to remove barriers that can prevent families from getting care for their pets.
At The PAW Mission, we believe lasting change begins within the community. That’s why we invest in local partnerships and hire team members from the communities we serve. Together, we’re creating a future where veterinary care is more accessible, pets can remain healthy and with the families who love them, and communities have the resources they need to care for their animals.

Jessica Lopez
Executive Director/Founder
Jessica Lopez began her career in veterinary medicine in 2003 and has dedicated more than two decades to improving animal health and expanding access to veterinary care. With 16 years of experience in animal welfare, Jessica brings a unique understanding of the barriers that can prevent families and communities from accessing essential services for their pets.
As the Founder and Executive Director of The PAW Mission, Jessica is committed to developing practical, community-based solutions that make veterinary care more accessible and affordable. Her work focuses on high-quality, high-volume spay and neuter, preventive and wellness care, community partnerships, and bringing veterinary services directly to underserved areas.
Jessica believes meaningful change happens when organizations listen to the communities they serve and build programs around their actual needs. Through The PAW Mission, she continues to strengthen partnerships with municipalities, animal welfare organizations, and community leaders while advocating for a future where access to veterinary care is not determined by a family's income or ZIP code.
Melissa Barreto
Education Campaigns Manager
Offering over 20 years of social service knowledge and experience, Melissa Barreto, BA, MA, provides the clinical and social outreach aspect to our organization, assisting with the administrative operations and development of the outreach programs with the goal to help pet owners by providing humane education, school education programs, and resources for families. She lives in Baldwin Park with her mother, son and daughter and the family's cats and dogs.
