The PAW Mission is a non-profit organization whose mission is to help decrease shelter euthanasia through affordable, accessible veterinary care, compassionate, innovative animal sheltering, and empathetic humane education. Our facility is located at 13229 7th Place, Yucaipa, Ca 92339 and is open by appointment only.

The PAW Mission’s goal is to work with high risk groups of children, teens, adults AND animals in underserved areas. Our mission is to provide a safe haven with activates, speakers, and educational opportunities to help community members and to aid aid animals in need by offering subsidized veterinary care, information on the different aspects of being a pet owner, and rescuing the most at risk dogs in shelters.

Jessica Lopez

Jessica Lopez serves as Executive Director/Founder of PAW Mission overseeing the organization’s management, programs and development. Jessica has worked in the veterinary field for over 14 years, and seven of those years she worked in one of the largest non-profit veterinary organizations in Los Angeles successfully implementing wellness clinics, vaccine clinics and took great pride in building great teams for the organization. Jessica has always known she was going to work with either animals or children, and she is exhilarated that she will be able to do both now. Jessica resides in Pomona with her supportive husband, two daughters, 2 cats and 3 dogs.


Melissa Barreto

Offering 14 years of social service knowledge and experience, Melissa Barreto, BA, MA, MFT-I provides the clinical aspect to the PAWS Mission Organization. Melissa is a Marriage and Family Therapist Intern pending licensure. In the past, some of the work experience has included working with at-risk populations in the residential treatment center setting and foster care, developmentally delayed and working with youth and adults who are diagnosed on the autistisc spectrum. As the Director of Therapeutic Services Melissa will be planning and overseeing all client care (treatment plans) and administrative operations of the clinical department. Utilizing therapeutic techniques while maintaining empathy and understanding to the population being served is a goal of the clinical department. To treat each individual focusing on the social, emotional and physiological aspects will produce better outcomes of treatment. She lives in Pomona with her cats and two dogs, Athena and Poopie.
